It is a celebration that spans the globe, and it lasts for weeks on end. Carnival begins twelve days after Christmas on January 6th (also known as Epiphany), and Carnival goes until 46 days before Easter. During this time, celebrants participate in parades, parties, contests, philanthropic events, galas and balls. Each event has a theme, from crowning a king or queen to celebrating regional foods, even highlighting customs and traits specific to a country or area. Carnival is especially prominent in Europe and Latin America, as well as parts of the Caribbean. The United States also has several locations that become highly involved in Carnival, or at least certain parts of it. Read the rest of this entry »

One of the most time-consuming activities when preparing for a catering event is preparing the flatware and napkins. Most guests enjoy having it all packaged together for easy carrying (especially in a self-service line) and for sanitation purposes. Using pre-packaged napkins and cutlery saves the caterer precious preparation time. Pre-packaged flatware can be found in a variety of formats, but our favorite are the pre-rolled caterwraps.
Our pre-rolled caterwraps are individually wrapped sets of plasticware in black or clear, wrapped in a Linen-Like napkin. They are each held together with a high-gloss band, eliminating any preparation time for flatware on the part of the caterer. Pre-rolled caterwraps are perfect for any size group and give that extra touch of class to the occasion. Try them at dinner meetings, company functions, family reunions, birthday parties…wherever people gather to eat.
Whether you are commercially preparing foods for groups or serving up your own family reunion, pre-rolled caterwraps can save you tons of time up front.

I’m one of those scrapbooking freaks. Yes, I will call myself that. I’m obsessed with stickers, die cuts, paper, adhesive, and of course, photos with my boys in them. It is not a normal past-time for me. I am drawn to the specialty stores, the racks of clearance items and the crops my friends all lure me into. I’ll spend hours obsessing over a single page, and at other times I’ll knock out an entire album in an afternoon. When I take a picture, I always wonder if it is one I will put in a scrapbook or not. Yes, I’m a scrapbooking freak. Read the rest of this entry »
