This past weekend, our church hosted a small community musical featuring several children from our congregation. As part of the production, our church provided a small reception for the guests and actors with punch and cookies. Rather than serving them on our standard church-ish folding tables, I brought up a couple of paper tablecloths that I had received from MyPaperShop.

I came across an easy-to-make fruit dip, perfect for any gathering or catering event. Make ahead of time and chill to save on the preparation prior to serving!
FRUIT DIP:
Ingredients:
1 small jar marshmallow cream
8 oz softened cream cheese
1/8 c. chopped Maraschino cherries
Crushed or finely chopped pineapple to taste
Mix all ingredients together. Add a bit of cherry juice for color and a bit of pineapple juice for flavor. Serve with chunks of canteloupe, grapes, orange wedges and strawberries. Apples are also good; cut up the day of the event and use a fruit preservative or a bit of lemon juice on them to keep them from browning. This is also good to serve with pretzels and chunks of cake (like pound cake) on toothpicks for dipping.

This time of year, many are celebrating relationships, graduations, the summer, and family. Our family alone has four separate events planned for this summer: my parents’ anniversary, two monumental birthdays (40 and 60!), and a family reunion. Amazingly, all of these gatherings will be centered around water activities. One will be at a local waterpark, and the rest will all take place at a private pool. When mixing water with entertainment, it is important to implement some adjustments for the safety of everyone.
