Holiday Ideas For The Entire Family

One of my favorite holiday activities is preparing home-baked goodies for my neighbors.  My children and I have a great time baking and creating, and then the boys do the delivering.  It is an easy and timeless tradition in which we participate each year.

We begin several weeks beforehand, carefully reading recipes and choosing our favorites plus a few new ones to add to the mix.  Then, we make our shopping list.  To help out with our budget, we spend about two to three weeks doing the grocery shopping.  This makes it much easier on the bank account!

About a week before our delivery day, we begin to create our goodies.  We pace ourselves, completing one to two recipes a day, depending on the difficulty of the recipe (and our busy social schedule!).  Finished products are packaged in small bundles to be placed into groupings for our friends, family and neighbors.  We have a couple of recipes that are best if they are created right before we deliver our goodies, so we usually wait until the last day to do those.

Then comes our favorite part - the presentation.  We always find a festive container to place our creations.  Baskets, decorative bags, boxes, and trays all make wonderful ways to share your culinary talents with others.  Find something that reflects the time of year.  And, make it a part of the gift.  These reusable holiday trays are perfect for such a presentation, and the price is perfect at less than $2 a piece.

Homemade goodies make a great gift during the holidays for those around you.  Make plans to share a few of your favorite recipes with friends, family and neighbors this year!
