Halloween parties are loads of fun for both kids and adults. Fact: You’re never too old to play dress up. I mean, there’s no law against running around town dressed in a costume on a daily basis, but if it’s for Halloween then let your creativity run wild. Do you remember The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (aka TMNT)? They became popular in the 90s and apparently have become the most current trend for young boys. Just this past weekend I attended a TMNT themed birthday party and it dawned on me that it could just as well have been a fun Halloween party!
Licensed tableware, no matter which character or TV show theme you choose, tends to get pretty pricey if you are looking to purchase all of your party components to match. We love how our very own, Claudia, mixed and matched solid color tableware to lower decorating costs and actually make the decor scheme pop. She incorporated classic red plastic luncheon plates and sunkissed orange paper luncheon napkins, along with yellow and green art tissue paper.
These adorable TMNT table centerpieces look store-bought, but they are homemade. Claudia recycled her baby formula cans and used those as bases. Pretty smart, huh? Her nephew turned 5 so she cut out a few number 5s out of glitter foam paper, made foam pizza slices, and used licensed paper dessert plates-all on skewer sticks. She used foam letters to put his name across the bottom for a personal touch. Colorful tissue paper was used to hold the skewer sticks up.
It you’re moving forward with a TMNT Halloween party, then obviously include a message on the invitation encouraging your guests to come dressed in their Halloween costumes. If not, then set out a few TMNT paper or cloth masks for the kids to wear. It’ll make the theme come alive. I even work my shell tee shirt because I was so excited!
Like I said, it’s never too late to play dress up! Feel free to share your Halloween party pictures via e-mail ([email protected]) or on our Facebook/Twitter. We truly enjoy seeing the fun themes you put together using our party supplies!
Have a safe & happy Halloween!
